Consultation
The first consultation usually lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.
Before any treatment is given, a thorough case-history is taken where the practitioner will ask you questions about your past medical history and general health as well the particular problem, to obtain as full a picture as possible of the cause of your symptoms.
The practitioner will then carry out a full examination. At this point you will usually be asked to undress down to your underwear - this makes general postural assessment, diagnosis and any subsequent treatment much easier. However, if you feel uncomfortable about this, shorts/loose fitting trousers and a vest may be worn.
If, after the examination, the practitioner decides that the problem will respond to osteopathy, treatment will be given (see treatment types). If further investigations are required you will be referred appropriately with a covering letter. If a course of treatment is required, the practitioner will discuss the number of treatments you are likely to need.
Clinic Times
Appointments are available Monday to Saturday. Evening appointments are also available.
Home visits can be arranged but fees will vary depending on the patient’s location and duration of appointment.
Current Fees
First appointment : 45 minutes to an hour - £50
All subsequent appointments : from 30 to 40 minutes long - £50
The price of an initial appointment will increase to £55 from 1st December 2024
N.B. There will be a charge of £25 for missed appointments and cancellations within 2hrs of the appointment.
